The backup copy is usually secured and kept for possible future use for a pre-determined time period. Backup copy can be created in two ways, viz. simple copy and / or mirrored copy. The difference between the two is that a mirrored copy is always updated with the recent data that is being written to the primary copy while a simple copy is not.
